The second release from our coveted block of Old Wente clone vines at the original Hyde Vineyard is here. The fruit was harvested August 23rd in fine condition and at optimal ripeness for our bright, citrus-laden style of Chardonnay, with acids in perfect balance. The color is a light, silvery yellow with flashes of green. On the nose, the aromas explode from the glass with notes of yellow plum, Bartlett pear, lemon curd, lime blossom, meringue and wet rocks. On the palate, the wine shows a little more cut than the 2019, with extra fine acids giving lift, balance and length to the rich, smooth, medium-bodied palate. 47 cases produced from 2 once-used French oak barrels.
