This vineyard is special for so many reasons, but the wines we make from it are cherished above all now that Ulises Valdez is no longer with us. Luckily, his son and daughter have taken the reins and continue to achieve greatness through meticulous farming. 2016 was Ulises Sr.’s last year, and we are proud to honor him with this fine Pinot Noir. Our block of Pommard Clone created a wine with aromas of cherry pit, fresh strawberry, ripe plum, sassafras, clove and a hint of wintergreen grace the nose. These elements, each on the palate, complement the round, dense structure that Pommard Clone lend, with the usual Silver Eagle richness. The finish is round and perfumed with ripe, sweet fruit and excellent length - a tell tale sign of a great vintage. This is a Microlot Club wine and only available to members of that list.
